Annual holiday update rolls out for Grand Theft Auto Online

Annual holiday update has come out

Grand Theft Auto Online’s annual holiday update is now live. As confirmed by members on Reddit, the patch is now out for the PlayStation 4 and is about 1.2 GB.

The ‘Festive Surprise’ patch includes new clothes and masks, bug fixes and four new cars. The update also features new weapons like a homing missile launch and proximity mines, because nothing spreads the Christmas spirit more than new weapons. The more festive additions are features like snow, a fireworks launcher for New Year and a Christmas Tree for your apartment. Players will also get a special ‘surprise’ for logging in on Christmas Day.

The patch is now available for the PlayStation 4 but will be out for all platforms soon enough. It’s also likely that the next-gen version of the game will receive different holiday bonuses, but Rockstar has not commented on this yet.

Also keep in mind that while this update seems great, these are still limited so it’s best to get in before it’s over. The new cars can also be tried out on single player but will have to be bought if you want to try them on GTA Online.

Rockstar games should be releasing a post regarding the patch details and additions soon. But in the meantime, here are a few patch notes:

  • Players are now able to own a third property, allowing potential ownership of up to 30 cars and 9 bicycles.
  • Deadzone and Acceleration sliders have been added to control settings.
  • First Person Mode Auto Level Camera on/off setting has been added to Settings.
  • Fixed multiple issues to allow improved matchmaking and connectivity speeds.

The update is a great way to end the year for GTA V. Players can expect some more awesome updates next year, especially with the upcoming online Heist mode.
