Bandai Namco uploads new Godzilla PS3/PS4 gameplay trailer

Godzilla will be releasing in July this year for the PS3 and PS4

Bandai Namco has revealed a brand new trailer for their upcoming title, Godzilla. The trailer has been uploaded to the company’s Tumblr page and reveals that the new Kaiju based game will be out sometime in July this year, which is just in time for the franchises 60th anniversary. The video also gives us a short glimpse of the gameplay with Godzilla taking on the monstrous Mothra in true kaiju fashion.

Based on the iconic movie franchise of the same name, Godzilla is a creature feature favourite in Japan with tons of movies and games based on the legendary kaiju. The franchise was back in the spotlight last year after the release Godzilla(2014) in the US. It was then that Bandai Namco announced a new Godzilla game for the PS3 and PS4 at last year’s Game Awards. You can check out the original announcement trailer here.

In the upcoming Godzilla game, players will be able to take control of both the American film Godzilla as well as the classic TOHO version of the monster. The game will also feature the creatures various rivals, namely Mothra, Mecha Godzilla, Jet Jaguar, Hedorah, Biollante, King Ghidorah, and Destoroyah. Players can also take on the role of the monster itself, smashing their way through cities and weapons.

It’s important to note that the trailer showcases gameplay from the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Bandai Namco is yet to reveal what the PlayStation 4 version of the game looks like, but hopefully they will soon.

Godzilla will be releasing in July this year, exclusively for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. PlayStation 4 owners can pre-order the game for $59.99 at GameStop, however, PlayStation 3 owners will have to purchase their copy via the PlayStation store.
