Creative Assembly releases 'Let's Play' video for Total War Attila

A shot from Total War Attila

The Creative Assembly’s upcoming Viking inspired strategy game, Total War Attila, will focus on the rise of Huns and the fall of the Western Roman Empire. The game is the ninth standalone title in the Total Wars series and this time, it is set in 395 AD during the beginning of the Dark Ages. Players will be able to take on the role of a Viking warrior who can then rise up to become the leader of the Huns.

A new ‘Let’s Play’ video of the Total War Attila is now out, which showcases some of the games features like the various playable Norse factions as well as the actual gameplay. These factions will be available to players who own the Viking Forefathers Culture Pack.

The 53 minute long video reveals a ton of interesting information, like the fact that your troops can become seasick, which in turn makes them very ineffective in battle. This isn’t the case with all the Nordic Factions though, such as the Danes, who possess a special attribute that helps their troops combat seasickness.

Once a battle is won, players will also be given the option to either release or ransom the captured prisoners. These decisions can boost your countries economy or drop your army’s integrity. Players can also take in warriors to boost up their numbers, or kill them ruthlessly.

Another interesting feature in the game is the ability to hire nomadic people as mercenaries. This can be done when the units pass through a province that your army is currently stationed in.

If you’re a Viking enthusiast, strategy fan, or history nut, (or all of these) then check out the full video below. Total War Attila is slated to release on February 17th for the PC. Pre-ordering the game will get you the Viking Forefathers Culture Pack for free.
