Bohemia Interactive has announced that DayZ standalone is set for it’s final release on 2016. The game was test released on December 16, 2013 and is currently in early alpha testing. DayZ is an open world survival horror game and it places the player in the fictional 225km2 post-Soviet state of Chernarus, where an unknown virus has turned most of the population into violent zombies.

The game’s development team has shared a "development roadmap" for 2015 and beyond. According to this press release, game features such as new UI,advanced vehicles and animals and the player statistics will be under development in Q2 2015. By the end of the year the studio aims to have a console prototype ready, as well as Steam community integration and a beta release.

Bohemia also said that "We would like to avoid a sudden increase in price once we hit the final release version." Currently, the alpha release Steam sale price of the game is $30 USD / €24 will rise to $35 after the sale. The beta version, due Q4 2015, will cost $44 / €35, and the final 2016 release will be around $50 / €40.
