Destiny reaches 16 million users, Activision hits $11 billion

Destiny became the most popular game of 2014

Call of Duty, being the annual hard hitter has helped the Activision to do extremely well. Activision is easily one of the biggest names in the gaming industry and is attached to many of the largest franchises on the gaming market. Their latest gaming report concludes that only Call of Duty was not the game to impress the gamers in 2015.

As posted by GameSpot, the sales for the call of duty franchise jumped to over $11 billion and was the most popular game of 2014 with the latest entry, Call of Duty: Advance Welfare playing a large part in that.

The other game that was Activision’s new darling in 2014 was the massively successful Destiny which is listed as the most succesful launch of a new video game in franchise history by the Activision. Destiny has reached a total of 16.5 million registered users by now.

Activision on a whole saw $2.21 billion in revenue which was down from $2.27 billion in 2013. However, over the last year, Activision’s overall profit saw a rise from $621 million to $698 million.
