Destiny players will receive a Legendary item this week

Destiny players will be getting a free Legendary gift this week. Developers Bungie are handing out Legendary weapons as a token of gratitude.

Players can visit the Postmaster in the Tower to receive a special delivery package with the description "a gift from an unknown benefactor." The package will contain a random legendary class weapon.

Bungie had announced they would be handing out a special Holiday gift for their players late last year but they did not go into the details of what this gift would be. Players on the Destiny forums believed that the Holiday gift was probably the ‘Sparrow’ added during the Halloween update.

The Christmas surprise was then delayed until January due to the connectivity issues over at Sony and Microsoft during the Holiday week. But players can expect the gift to be delivered through the Postmaster, sometime after January 5th. You can also keep track of Bungie’s Twitter account for more details on this holiday freebie.

Destiny received its first major DLC The Dark Below last year and Bungie has plenty of content planned for the game in 2015. Recent leaks suggest that the next DLC for Destiny titled House of Wolves will be releasing sometime this March. There are also rumours about a possible new DLC planned for the game but these are yet to be confirmed by Bungie
