Destiny The Dark Below makes some old content unavailable

Destiny The Dark Below

Destiny’s first major expansion ‘The Dark Below’ released just yesterday night and Bungie has already found itself in some trouble over it. Many players are upset with Bungie after some of the Destiny’s already available content was locked out for players who had not purchased the DLC.

Users over at the Bungie forums as well as on other social media complained about the latest DLC for Destiny making some of the content unplayable without purchasing the optional add-on. So this means players who did not purchase The Dark Below will not be able to gain access to some of the games content.

This includes the Weekly Strikes and Nightfall, as both are tied to the new content present in the DLC. Now both these modes are only available exclusively for players who have purchased the DLC and sadly that’s not all that has been locked out.

According to users on r/Destiny, the Engram Bonus has been moved to the DLC exclusive playlist as well. So this has made it very hard for players to progress in the game, not to mention the fact that all of these features were already available for free before the DLC was released.

And while this is a pretty bad move by Bungie, players will not be upset for too long as the Weekly Strikes and Nightfall Strikes should start rotating again meaning players who have not purchased the DLC should have access to those modes again, hopefully by the end of this week.

If not, then this isn’t exactly the best way for Bungie to show its appreciation for their players.

Bungie is yet to reply regarding the issue though and tempers are brewing with many players commenting that the DLC is more of a subscription to keep playing rather than an optional expansion, as they now feel forced to buy the DLC just to gain access to the some of the locked out features.
