Dragon Ball Xenoverse timeline set many years after Majin Buu saga

Dragon Ball Xenoverse

So it seems that the events in Dragon Ball Xenoverse may be taking place years after the Dragon Ball Z timeline. According to the official Dragon Ball Xenoverse website, the story is set in the “Age 850”, which is many years after the “Age 774” when the DBZ fighters defeated nemesis Majin Buu.

So fans of the anime/manga might be surprised at the huge time leap, but it turns out that Xenoverse will have a time travel element in the story. Your character will now meet up with Trunks to defeat time travelling villains Mira and Towa. The two villains have concocted a diabolical plan to head back in time and make the villains of the past stronger than before. This in turn as altered the DBZ timeline and now players are tasked with returning to the past and restoring history.

Both Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Super Android 17 will be featured in the game as well so that’s a pretty strong hint that the Xenoverse timeline might also be taking place after the events of Dragon Ball GT.

Hopefully things will be cleared up and fans will get some more details on the Xenoverse timeline at the upcoming Jump Festa in Japan. A new gameplay trailer might also be revealed at the event, especially since the game will be playable at the event.

The game will be launching next year on February 17th but is available for pre-order on Steam.
