The ever so controversial game by Destructive Creations, Hatred, has been awarded the rare Adults Only rating (AO) by the ESRB organization. This rating has been assigned on account of the extreme violence and harsh language used in the game which allows the players to assume the disturbing role of a “mass murderer” who launches a massive killing spree on the innocent human society. This AO rating might not affect its release on Steam, but it blacks out any possibility of its release for console platforms.

In an official announcement on the game’s forum, developers voiced their discontent towards the games rating stating that they are not convinced by the reason ESRB has given for awarding this certificate. They pointed out that the “violence isn’t really that bad and this harsh language is not overused.“

Since the game does not contain any sexual content, developers are not sure whether it is brutal enough to deserve this rating. However, they don’t seem to be ready to alter its parameters to make it eligible for an ‘M rating’. This extreme mass-killing game had been Greenlit for Steam(read our detailed report here)
