Katsuhiro Harada states Tekken 7 storyline will be very dark

Bandai Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada has hinted that the upcoming Tekken 7’s storyline will be very dark. A fan of the series told Harada on Twitter that he was looking forward to the story of Tekken 7. Harada responded to the fan by saying “it’s too dark, but stay tuned“.

The narrative of the game will be the final chapter in the Mishima saga, so a dark storyline would certainly fit. Bandai Namco revealed this when the game was announced a year back. The trailer featured Kazuya, who is angry with the fact that Heihachi killed his mother. The two agree to one last fight which could indicate that one (or both) of the characters may die, which could be why Harada mentioned that it would be a darker storyline. But with his response, it seems that Harada is under the impression that some fans may not like the darker tale.

Fans of the series will definitely be sad if the developers were to permanently kill of one of their favourite characters. It’s hard to let go of popular characters but Tekken 7 may finally be able to do something new with the storyline once this chapter is out.

Tekken 7 will be hitting arcades across Japan in early 2015. Check out the new characters and trailer for the game here.
