Microsoft's Phil Spencer tweets about Xbox One not getting a Street Fighter V release

Street Fighter V

Capcom recently announced that their latest title Street Fighter V is only going to be available for the PS4 and PC platforms which means it will not be available for the Xbox One leaving a few fans upset over the decision. Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has recently spoken out about the big announcement via Twitter.

In a response to a fan who had asked for his opinion regarding the announcement of Street Fighter V only being available for the PS4 and PC, Spencer responded with the following tweet:

According to Spencer, business deals happen and Microsoft cannot be involved in all of them, which is a fair enough justification. Microsoft does do a mix of deals of their own and Spencer stated later that owning “IP XBOX gamers love” is more important to them. A lot of fans also feel that Xbox is better off focusing on new IP’s as well.

One of Microsoft’s deals this year was making Rise of the Tomb Raider a timed exclusive for the Xbox platforms.

Sony, of course, have their own set of deals with the latest being Street Fighter V. That’s not all though, Capcom is now also releasing Ultra Street Fighter IV exclusively for the PS4 as well. So it will be quite a while before Street Fighter V hits the Xbox One, if it ever does that is.
