The game awaits release in April 2015.

Just two days ago, Ed Boon, creator of the upcoming game Mortal Kombat X, had rolled exclusive details about the game’s story line and also hinted towards the possibility of the return of the old villian Kun Lao and now we have more details from the creator in regard to the presence of strong female characters in the game.

Ed Boon was recently interviewed by GamesMaster magazine where he talked more about Mortal Kombat X, plus various other topics when it came to the titled agenda. Boon expressed his views that the Mortal Kombat series “represents empowered females more than almost any game out there“.

This is true since the first game featured Sonya Blade, with subsequent games featuring the likes of Kitana, Mileena and more.

More strong female characters in latest game

Mortal Kombat X is set to include even more female characters that can hold their own against the other male characters. Some of the new female characters featured include Cassie Cage, and D’Vorrah.

There are sure to be more female characters to be announced in the coming months before the game comes out this April. Ed Boon even went further to comment that their “female characters are treated exactly like our male characters“.

He says that the game has a higher percentage of female characters than most other combat games. Mortal Kombat X will be released from April 14th for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360.
