Number of people playing Dying Light crosses 3.2 million

Dying Light

Dying Light seems to be the most popular game in 2015 as the total number of players playing this game has crossed 3.2 million!

This announcement was made on the official Dying Light Twitter page. 3.2 players already, given that the game came out in January is pretty impressive.

The release schedule for Dying Light was rather weird as the North Americans had the game first via digital and physical copies while the rest of the world received the game via download in the month of January. The game did not come out physically to retail stores outside North America till late February. It was after the game’s international release that the number of players increased exponentially.

Dying Light was released for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The large number of people playing the game would go on to suggest that people are starting to ditch last-gen consoles. The game was supposed to come out for Xbox and PS3 but the developers decided against it.

Dying Light is a new IP but one must not forget that the game was developed by Techland who is the same developer for Dead Island games. Techland is going to continue to support the game via many updates and DLC that will be coming out later this year.
