Osama Bin Laden used to play Counter Strike in his hideout

While growing up, most youngsters have had a penchant for video games and one such game which usually tops the preference list, is Counter Strike. It is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game series, in which teams of terrorists and counter-terrorists battle to, respectively, perpetrate an act of terror, or prevent it.

While it was fun getting into battle mode day in and day out, albeit virtually, the gamers might have encountered a real terrorist sitting on the other side of the screen. And as shocking as it may sound, the name of the terrorist may well turn out to be Osama Bin Laden, who was killed by the U.S. forces in Abbottabad, Pakistan on May 2, 2011.

This incident comes to light after the CIA released some files about Laden which traces the fact that he used to keep certain movies, documentaries, English books and games with him during the last stages of his life.

David Attenborough's BBC Great Wildlife Moments and Disney classics like Cars, Chicken Little, and Antz found a place on Laden’s shelf. He also possessed quite a few documentaries about himself and a few films which showcased various speculations at the time of where he might have taken shelter.

The former Al-Qaeda leader had a copy of Final Fantasy VII and the CIA also revealed that he possessed a copy of Resident Evil. Now it is not clear whether this was only the game version, movie or both.

However the post below suggests that Laden also had a Steam account which references Counter-Strike.

This almost makes it clear that he might be calmly slipping into the virtual world when the U.S. army was doing everything possible to find a key to his hideout.

So all those avid gamers out there, you might have unknowingly killed the most feared terrorist before the U.S. army actually took him down.
