Respawn Entertainment developing a new Titanfall title

Titanfall 2 may feature a DLC model similar to Evolve

Titanfall fans will be happy to know that a Titanfall 2 is now under development. Respawn CEO, Vince Zampella, has confirmed that a sequel to the hit multiplayer fps is now under works. The announcement comes a day after Electronic Arts made the games map packs completely free. This was to commemorate Titanfall’s one year anniversary.

In his recent statements before the BAFTA Game Awards, Zampella told IGN that they were indeed working on a sequel.

"I guess EA announced a sequel, so I could play coy and pretend I don't know anything about it, or… yeah. So we're working on a sequel," he said. "No official name yet, but we're working on that. That's the main focus but we're starting up a second team and doing some smaller stuff too. Small, exploratory, taking it slow! It'll be multiplatform."

Zampella also seemed interested in changing the DLC model in the next Titanfall entry. He believe that free maps for all players is a better option compared to the usual multiple maps in purchasable packs, as it does not split the community.

"I think that's a fantastic way to do it," he said. "I think having the maps like that in packs, it does split the community and it makes it harder for matchmaking, it's messy. Yeah. I don't know we won't do it again, I can't say that for sure, but the idea would be to do something different."

The CEO did not reveal many details on the upcoming entry but we likely to hear more about this in the next few months. The game will be available for the Xbox One, PS 4 and PC.
