SMITE

Hi-Rez and Microsoft Studio’s online battle arena title SMITE will be entering beta phase for the Xbox One sometime soon. Beta registration for the game is now open and players can visit the official site to sign up. All you have to do is enter your email and agree to the terms and conditions. There will be a limited quantity of codes available and players who registered will be notified via email in the next couple of months.

SMITE is a God-focused 3D Action multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) title which splits players into two teams of deities that face off against each other over several of the games modes. It plays in a very different way from other MOBA titles, offering a third person view and action based combat (involving a lot of aiming and dodging).

There are many interesting game modes like Arena, which is a 5 vs 5 combat mode, Joust which consists of only one lane, and Conquest, which is like any other MOBA styled three-lane map.

The game is a free-to-play title that has been out on the PC since March 2014. The title consists of about sixty-one Gods from various mythologies to choose from, all of which can be purchased online. It has garnered a lot of popularity since its release last year leading to a World Championship event with a prize of $2.5 million. The Xbox One version of the game should be out sometime this year.

In the meantime, check out the cinematic trailer for SMITE Battleground of the Gods.
