With Dragon Ball Xenoverse releasing just three days ago in Japan, several Japanese media have revealed tons of information about the game which fans from the West have been keeping a note of. This includes the games story saga.

According to a report by Saiyan Island, the game will contain 10 main story sagas including a prologue. Of these 10 stories, 8 will be from the Dragon Ball Z anime, which is sure to please fans of the anime series. This also includes the recent Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods movie. The 2 new sages are called “Super Saiyan Legend” and  “Demon God Demigra”, which seem to be unique stories created just for the game.

You can check out the list of sagas below:

  • Prologue
  • Saiyan Saga
  • Return of the Saiyans Saga
  • Ginyu Force Saga
  • Frieza Saga
  • Cell Saga
  • Android Saga
  • Majin Buu Saga
  • God of Destruction Beerus Saga
  • Demon God Demigra Saga
  • Super Saiyan Legend Saga

With the games sagas now revealed, it turns out that the original Dragon Ball series is not be included in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse, which isn’t too surprising as Bandai Namco’s Community Manager had already confirmed this two months ago. And it’s not like players will be missing out much, as the Dragon Ball Z series was the more popular part of the whole franchise.

Besides this, Saiyan Island’s report also mentions that the game will have around 47 playable characters. The number will increase to 52 characters with al l the DLC fighters. The number is much lower than what fans had initially expected.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse is slated to release on February 24th for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and on February 27th for the PC. You can check out Famitsu’s review of the game here.
