Strategy RPG Armello hitting early access on 22nd January

Armello will be hitting Steam on the 22nd of this month

Melbourne based studio League of Geeks upcoming title Armello will be hitting Steam early access on January 22nd. The game was first announced for the iPad but will be making its way to the PC and android.

Following an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign between April and May last year, the developers now have enough funds to port the game for Steam. League of Geeks have stated that their goal is to “revolutionise digital board and card games” with Armello and considering how great the game looks, the team may be on the right track.

Armello is an isometric strategy RPG with elements of card and board games. Players can choose from one of four clans, these are Rabbit, Bear, Wolf and Rat. The ultimate goal of the game is to claim the throne of Armello which is located at the center of the map. But how players obtain the throne is pretty open-ended, this goes for questlines as well as levelling.

The graphics of the game look pretty great and colourful. Armello will also include a local and online multiplayer option while the single player mode will pit players against three AI enemies. Combat in the game is similar to Hearthstone and takes place in a dice-led card setting.

Early access for Armello will run for about six months and new heroes and cards will be added in that time. You can check out the trailer below:
