Street Fighter V to feature new character

Street Fighter V

The 2014 Capcom Cup tournament concluded with the reveal of a new character, Charlie Nash, who will appear in the upcoming Street Fighter V. The character was unveiled in an extended trailer of the one shown at this year’s PlayStation Experience.

Capcom’s producer Yoshinori Ono in fact, dressed up as Charlie Nash as he made the closing announcements at the event. He discussed Street Fighter V and even announced that the prize purse for next year’s Capcom Pro Tour and Capcom Cup will now be a staggering $500,000.

Ono has stated the following regarding the upcoming Street Fighter V:

"We've been hard at work at Street Fighter 5, and we promise this product will be the one that brings fighting games into the next era. This will be a huge step for us and our community."

But this is not the characters first appearance in the Street Fighter series. Charlie originally appeared in Street Fighter Alpha but Street Fighter V will feature an updated version of the character.

The game will also feature cross-platform gameplay, which means that players from both the PS4 and PC versions of the game can now battle against each other. This feature was announced at last week’s PlayStation Experience.

StreetFighter V is slated to release exclusively for the PS4 and Windows PC. Check out some of Street Fighter V’s new additions here.
