Xbox One Evolve pre-purchases will gain access to five exclusive tier-three characters

Turtle Rock Studios and 2K announced late last week that their upcoming four versus one co-op shooter Evolve has officially gone gold. The game will have one final beta test before its official launch(though this is exclusive for the Xbox One). Evolve’s publishers are also launching a special promotional for pre-purchases in anticipation for the games release this February.

In a recent blog post on Evolve’s official website, publisher 2K revealed that all those who pre-purchase the game on Xbox One or during the open beta stage will be getting some extra goodies in the beta stage and final versions of the game.

The open beta is slated to begin this Thursday on January 15th for the Xbox One. The beta will feature two playable monster types and eight playable hunter types. But, players who pre-purchase the game through the Xbox One Store will gain instant access to four more hunter types and one monster types. These include hunters Abe, Caira, Cabot and Parnell as well as one Wraith monster Goliath, which are all classed as “third-tier”. These characters will be instantly unlocked for the final version of the game launches.

Since the characters are classified as “third-tier”, it probably means that they aren’t easily attainable and players who do not pre-purchase the game will have to grind through the game’s progression system in order to unlock them. So pre-purchases will not have to worry about grinding through the system in order to get these powerful characters. This seems a tad bit unfair but hopefully they aren’t too hard to obtain in game.
