India's lone Judoka eliminated at the London Games

India’s Garima Chaudhary crashed to a resounding defeat against Yoshie Ueno in the Women’s 63kg half-middleweight category Elimination Round of 32.

Ranked 88th in the world, India’s sole competitor in Judo at the London Games lasted only for 1.21 minutes against her Japanese competitor as she beaten by an Ippon.

Garima qualified for the London Games after consistent performances at the international level, beginning with the Paris World championships last year, followed by an impressive showing in the World Cup in Warsaw and the Asian championship in Tashkent this year

Along with her own dreams, the country’s hopes of winning a possible medal in Judo came to an abrupt halt.
