Maidan Summit 2012 - Annual Sport for Development International Meet

Magic Bus India Foundation (MBIF) is pleased to announce Maidan Summit 2012, the third annual Sport for Development (S4D) international meet from November 26 to 27 in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. The event is a two days conference at the Chanakya BNR Hotel, Station Road, Ranchi. The objectives of the Summit are to provide an interactive forum to national and international S4D practitioners positioning Sport for Development as a mainstream development approach, especially in the domains of education, health, youth development and social inclusion. Maidan 2012 is supported by the Australian Sports Commission.

Mr. Sudesh Mahto, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Jharkhand has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest. He will be joined by representatives of key stakeholders in the national and international sport and development arena in a series of panel discussions.

As an organization which has evolved over a decade using sport as a medium to meet development objectives, Magic Bus is organizing this Summit to bring practitioners, NGOs, Corporates and CSR Foundations, Donor Agencies together on a common platform. The two days conference will discuss how sport can be used to influence every area of community development and empowerment from social and disability inclusion to education, disease prevention, disaster rehabilitation and youth development.
