Rohit Sharma, Jitu Rai among the list of athletes recommended for Arjuna Awards

Kidambi Srikanth part of the list recommended for Arjuna Awards

The committee appointed by the Sports Ministryhave recommended 17 sportspersons from varying sports for the Arjuna Awarda this year IBNlive reports. The list includes the likes of Rohit Sharma, who scored a magnificent 264 againt Sri lanka in November last year and follwed that with a century in the quarterfinals of the 2015 World Cup against Bangladesh, MR Poovamma, who won a silver at the Asian Athletics Championships etc.

Jitu Rai, who became World No.1 last year, is also part of the list so is hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh, who was part of the team that won gold at the Asian Games in Incheon last year.

Kidambi Srikanth, who is currently ranked 4^th in the world is also in the list, so is gymnast Dipa Karmakar. Kabbadi players Manjeet Chillar and Abhilasha Mhatre also featured in the group.
