Trap shooter Ronjan Sodhi has been picked for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the highest honour for a sportsperson in India. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and PV Sindhu will be rewarded with Arjuna Award.

Ronjon Sodhi has been awarded for his consistent performance in Men’s double trap shooting. He won two silver medals at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games and a gold in the Asian Games the same year.

In 2011, he became first and the only Indian to successfully defend a World Cup title. He has won two world titles so far in 2010 and 2011.

He is currently ranked No. 1 in International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) world rankings.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s rise through Indian cricket has been meteoric. He was appointed the captain of Indian team in the recently concluded Zimbabwe series, which India won 5-0.

India’s new badminton star, PV Sindhu has also been in great form for the last 12 months or so. She made it to the semifinal in the recently concluded BWF World Championship in Guangzhou, China. She became India’s first women’s singles bronze medal at the World Championships.
