The PGA Tour events usually feature a field of young players. However, over the years, several older players have competed among the younger ones and have been successful on the circuit.
In the last two weeks, fans have seen Reed Hughes and Jay Don Blake, who teed it up at PGA Tour events. Despite crossing the age of 60, the two played some decent shots and made headlines in the newspapers.
Over the years, several older players teed it up on the PGA Tour, and below is a list of some of them.

#1 Jay Don Blake
Starting the list with this week's Jay Don Blake. The American golfer received a special exemption from the officials to play at this week's PGA Tour event.
The 65-year-old golfer started his game at the Black Desert Championship with a round of 73. He shot four bogeys and two birdies in the opening round for a score of 2-over 73. In the second round, Blake carded a round of 8-over 79 with six bogeys, a birdie, and a double bogey. He settled in 127th place at the tournament.
#2 Reed Hughes
Another oldest golfer to compete on the PGA Tour is Reed Hughes. At the age of 71, he teed it up at the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship last week. The American golfer made it to the field after winning the Gulf States E-Z GO Section Championship in 2023. However, he struggled with his game and shot an opening round of 76. He carded another round of 78 and missed the cut.
#3 Sam Snead
Sam Snead was one of the oldest players to compete on the PGA Tour. In fact, he became the oldest player to win a Tour event in 1965. That year, he won the Greater Greensboro Championship at the age of 52 years, 10 months, and eight days. Snead is one of the most successful golfers in the world, having won 82 PGA Tour events in his career.
#4 Fred Funk
Fred Funk is not only among the oldest players who teed it up on the PGA Tour but also one of the oldest to win a Tour event. He won the Mayakoba Golf Classic in 2007 at the age of 50 years, eight months, and 11 days. The American golfer started playing professionally in 1981. He joined the PGA Tour in 1989, and in 2006, he started playing on the PGA Tour Champions.
#5 Davis Love III
Davis Love III is also one of the oldest players to win on the PGA Tour. He won the 2015 Wyndham Championship at the age of 51 years, four months, and 10 days.
Love III currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions and sometimes on the PGA Tour as well. The 60-year-old golfer's last PGA Tour outing was at The RSM Classic in 2023 where he shot two rounds of 72 and 71 and missed the cut.
