Following an incredible final round score of six-under par 66, Paul Waring is the 2024 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship winner. This week, the Englishman earned his second DP World Tour victory and went home with a whopping 1,500 Race to Dubai points and a grand cheque worth $1,530,000.

#1 Paul Waring was born in Birkenhead, England
Waring was born on February 2, 1985 in Birkenhead, England - a town located close to Liverpool and the same area as fellow English golfer Tommy Fleetwood. He was born to Gill Waring, who swam for England at very high competitive levels.
The DP World Tour star tends to keep his life private. According to his DP World Tour profile, he has a keen interest for cars and a cousin named Matthew Smith, who was a professional tennis player.
#2 He won his first DP World Tour title on his 200th start
The 39-year-old first qualified for the DP World Tour in 2007 at Q-School. Several players and golf enthusiasts knew he was one to look out for as he qualified in his first attempt. Waring won his first title on the Tour in 2018 at the Nordea Masters.
On his 200th start, he fired scores of 66, 63, 69, and 68 to total 14-under par 266 for the week at the Hills Golf and Sports Club in Gothenburg, Sweden. Not only did he go home pleased with the much deserved victory, he also earned a grand cheque worth €250,000.
#3 He had a great amateur career
Waring had a very successful amateur career in England. He led his country to victory as he captained the Men's Home Internationals. The team event is played between the four Home Nations - Ireland, England, Wales, and Scotland.
He won the 2005 English Amateur Championship at the Bromborough Golf Club with a match result of 3 and 2 against Steven Capper.
#4 He has made seven starts in major tournaments
Paul Warning has made a total of seven starts in major championships since 2007. He made his major debut at the 2007 Open Championship where he missed the cut. The Englishman returned to record his best finish of tied for 19th place at the 2008 edition of the event.
2009 to 2016 saw no appearances from the DP World Tour star. He is yet to make his PGA Championship and Masters debut and has only made the cut in the 2008 and 2019 editions of the Open Championship.

According to Golf Monthly, Waring turned his love for music into a professional DJ career when he was younger. He later gave up his passion due to a lack of time and dedicated all his hours into pursuing golf.
