Adam Scott set to skip Australian summer of golf after 21 seasons for 'quality time with his family'

Having recorded two runner-up finishes, Adam Scott had an incredible season on the PGA Tour this year. The Australian ended the season with a T4 finish at the 2024 Tour Championship and has since disclosed a change in his schedule for the fall season.

The 44-year-old announced that he will not be making starts at the Australian PGA Championship, Australian Masters, and the Australian Open this year. Having played 21 of the last 24 editions of the tournaments, the news came as a shock to fans.

According to Sports Illustrated, here's what the PGA Tour superstar said to the Australian Golf Digest about his break:

"Throughout my career I have always done my best to come back to Australia to compete in at least some of our great local events. This year will be an exception, as I need to spend some quality time with my family and get some rest."

Scott went on to wish the rest of the field the best of luck and thanked all event sponsors for their support in promoting the game in Australia. The 44-year-old will return to the PGA Tour for the 2025 season after a well-deserved break.
