Does the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship have a cut line? Rules explored

The first leg of the FedExCup playoffs begins this week at Memphis with the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship. The TPC Southwind will host the event with the top 70 ranked golfers from the season-long FedExCup rankings in the field.

Since there are only 70 golfers in the field, there is no cut line in the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship. So, all 70 golfers will have a chance to compete in the four rounds.

But only the top 50 golfers from the FedExCup rankings will proceed for The BMW Championship at the Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado. Finally, only the top 30 will make it to the final Tour Championship at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta.

The prize money purse for the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship is $20 million. The winner will receive $3.6 million from the total purse and 2000 FedExCup points.

Scottie Scheffler currently leads the 2024 FedExCup rankings and is one of the favorites to win the season-ending playoffs. He has won six PGA Tour titles this season, including a Major championship and recently a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Behind him is the two-time Major championship winner this season, Xander Schauffele. He is nearly 1,936 points behind Scheffler and can overtake him by winning any of the upcoming two playoff events.

The defending champion of the 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship, Lucas Glover, is not in the field as he failed to qualify for the playoffs. He was 77th in the rankings and couldn't be in the field this week at TPC Southwind.
