Has anyone won the Masters and US Open in the same year?

The golfing world is excited to witness some scintillating action this week as the 2024 US Open tees off on June 13. The Pinehurst Golf Course No. 2 in North Carolina is the host of the third Major Championship of the year. The USGA conducts the US Open after the Masters and the PGA Championship.

Fans consider the US Open as one of the prestigious Majors along with the Masters. Hence, all golfers dream of winning these events at least once in their careers. But over the years, we have witnessed a few golfers winning the Masters and the US Open in the same year.

So far, only six golfers have won the Masters and the US Open in the same year. Craig Wood did it for the first time in 1941, while Ben Hogan is the only golfer to achieve this feat twice in his career, in 1951 and 1953.

After them, Arnold Palmer in 1960, Jack Nicklaus in 1972, Tiger Woods in 2002, and Jordan Spieth in 2015 replicated the feat. No golfer since 2015 has won both the Masters and the US Open in the sane year.

This year's Masters champion, Scottie Scheffler, will look to join this elite club and also claim his first US Open trophy.
