The tenth edition of The Match will feature eight celebrity golfers and will be played over two days. The Breakers West Country Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, will host the event on November 21 and 22.
The PGA Tour has the RSM Classic scheduled in the same week, and despite no prominent name being expected to feature in that event, no pro golfer will feature in the latest edition of The Match.
The eight golfers who will be featuring in this event are Charles Barkley, Bill Murray, Mark Wahlberg, Wayne Gretzky, Ken Griffey Jr., Nate Bargatze, Michael Phelps, and Blake Griffin. The tournament will be streamed on TNT and Max at primetime.
Murray and Gretzky will compete against Barkley and Griffey, while Wahlberg and Phelps will play against Bargatze and Griffin in scramble matches on November 21. The winning pairings will then play singles matches on November 22 for a prize money of $1 million.
This tournament will have a LIV Golf connection as well, with Bubba Watson making his debut as an on-course correspondent. Ernie Johnson and Trevor Immelman will be back in the commentary box for the event, with Kathryn Tappen as the on-course reporter.
It is crucial to note that 'The Match' is not the same as the exhibition event that was announced earlier, where Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler will take on Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka. Even though the people behind that event are the same, it will not feature 'The Match' branding. That event will be played on December 17 at the Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.
