"I'm here to just enjoy the grind"- Rose Zhang remains humble despite inching closer to winning a medal during her maiden Olympics in Paris

Golf's latest sensation, Rose Zhang, began the penultimate round of the 2024 Paris Olympics, tied for 12th place. The American posted an incredible third round score of five under par 67 to move up the leaderboard.

With rounds of even-par 72 and two-under-par 70, Zhang's third-round score propelled her nine spots up the leaderboard to a tie for third place. The Stanford alum shares the spot with Japan's Miyu Yamashita. She will be battling it out tomorrow to claim a spot on the podium in her maiden Olympic appearance.

Zhang is just two strokes behind co-leaders Lydia Ko and Morgane Metraux. However, the humble 21-year-old refuses to get ahead of herself in the hunt for a medal. Here's what she told Golf Monthly:

" I don't think there needs to be a change, and I think personally, you know, what I can do and what I can control is the most important. I'm here to just enjoy the grind and I know I'm going to have to grind tomorrow but you know, you just have to be in the moment. "

Having carded in three birdies and six pars on the front nine, Zhang had a stellar start to the day. However, she ran into some trouble on the back nine. Le Golf National's par-four 15th hole saw the LPGA Tour star card in a double bogey. Fortunately, she did not let the setback faze her and went on to make two birdies to neutralise the hole.
