LIV golfer Dustin Johnson reflected on the difficulties of the Oakmont Country Club as he is preparing to tee off at the 2025 US Open. The third Major of the year is officially scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 12.
Ahead of that, Johnson attended a pre-tournament press conference held on June 9 in which he was asked which golf course he considered to be the hardest he had played so far. The American had a three-word reply to the question, and he called the Oakmont Country Club the hardest one.
"Probably this one," Johnson said (via ASAP Sports).
Dustin Johnson has previously won the US Open in Oakmont when the tournament was last held at the venue in 2016. He has good experience of playing at the venue and in the press conference, even talked about getting back to play in Oakmont.
"The course is just as hard as I remember, if not harder," Johnson said. "I like coming back here. I love the golf course. First time I played it, probably two weeks prior to the 2016 open, so obviously a lot of good memories from that year. Coming back, I was back here one other time when I got my honorary membership here, for that ceremony, which was really nice."
Back in 2016, Dustin Johnson, who has a net worth of $100 million (via Celebrity Net Worth), started the campaign with an opening round of 67 at the US Open and then played the next three rounds of 69, 71, and 69. He registered a three-stroke win over Jim Furyk, Shane Lowry, and Scott Piercy back then. Fans have their eyes on him to see if he can win again in 2025 at the venue.
What are Dustin Johnson's odds for the 2025 US Open?
