The 125th edition of the U.S. Open begins today, June 12, at Oakmont Country Club. With a stacked field of 156 players, fans and celebrities have shared their picks for the winner of the 2025 U.S. Open.

The PGA Tour’s official Instagram account shared a carousel of eight screenshots, showing replies from various celebrities who were asked to pick their U.S. Open 2025 favorite. The post was captioned:

The first response came from American actor Glen Powell, who replied:

"My boy Scottie Scheffler."

Powell, known for his roles in Anyone But You and Hitman, has a reported net worth of $12 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Scottie Scheffler received the most celebrity support for the 2025 U.S. Open. Actor and comedian Will Arnett responded by writing:

"I mean...it has to be Scottie no?"

Tennis pro Taylor Fritz also picked the World No.1, saying:

Scottie Scheffler enters the U.S. Open in top form. He has won three of his last four starts and 16 total PGA Tour events. He claimed the PGA Championship in May, his third major title, but is still chasing his first U.S. Open win.

Other stars picked different favorites. Country singer Luke Combs went with Justin Thomas, saying:

"Gotta go with my guy JT."

Twilight actor Taylor Lautner also backed Thomas, writing:

Thomas, ranked 5th in the OWGR, has two major wins (both PGA Championships) and 16 career victories. He recently won the RBC Heritage and has six top-10s in 13 starts this year.

Former NBA player Blake Griffin named Swedish golfer Ludvig Åberg as his pick to win the U.S. Open, writing,

"Give me Ludvig to moon!"

Meanwhile, actor Charlie Day went with veteran Rocco Mediate, who has 11 career wins, including six on the PGA Tour and five on the PGA TOUR Champions. Mediate is currently ranked 91st in the Schwab Cup standings.
