2023 Genesis Invitational: PGA Tour expert picks and best odds

The 2023 Genesis Invitational will tee off at the Riviera Country Club on Thursday, February 16. The Los Angeles stop of the PGA Tour comes with big attention as legendary golfer Tiger Woods returns to the circuit after months away.

Apart from Woods, the Genesis Invitational field is stacked with star golfers. Players including the likes of world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 2 Rory McIlroy and No.3 Jon Rahm, among others, will go up against each other for the whopping $20 million prize purse on offer. The top golfers will be joined by more than 40 players from the top 50 in the world.

Ahead of the event, betters and experts have begun sharing top odds and Jon Rahm looks like the favorite. As per SportsLine, the Spaniard comes into the event with odds of 7-1. He is followed by McIlroy (10-1) and Scheffler (11-1). Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele are others in the competition. Max Homa sits just outside the top 5.

While top betting sites predict the top 3 to be favorites at the Genesis Invitational, the PGA Tour experts seem to disagree.

Unlike the betting sites who chose Jon Rahm as the clear favorite to win the Genesis Invitational, the PGA Tour experts have their bets on a rather surprise pick in Max Homa. American circuit experts predict that the 32-year-old American will bounce back from his T39 finish at last week’s WM Phoenix Open.

PGA Tour fantasy experts also predict Homa will revive his form from January’s Farmers Insurance Open. The golfer won the event by beating some of the top names on the circuit. Apart from Homa, Justin Thomas and Adam Scott were other surprise entries on the experts’ favorites picks.

However, world No.1 Scottie Scheffler, who comes into the event on the back of the Phoenix Open win, remains a top bet for the top 3 alongside McIlroy.
