The second round of the PGA Championship closed with a three-way tie for first place. Scottie Scheffler, Corey Conners and Viktor Hovland finished at 5 under par, two strokes ahead of the second-place finishers. It was a very productive day for the three current leaders of the PGA Championship. Scheffler and Conners were able to move up two places, while Hovland moved into the lead from T6.But the comeback of the day was undoubtedly Brooks Koepka. The LIV star had finished with +2 on the first day, to anchor in the middle of the leaderboard, but was able to make a -4 in Round 2 to get dangerously close to the leaders.PGA Championship@PGAChampionshipFour birdies helped Scottie Scheffler go low at Oak Hill. @ROLEX | #ROLEX254Four birdies helped Scottie Scheffler go low at Oak Hill. @ROLEX | #ROLEX https://t.co/1imXnNvbS3It was not the same for Bryson DeChambeau, who signed a +1 card in Round 2 (-3 overall) that dropped him to T4. Even worse went the round for Eric Cole, who fell to T19, with a round score of +4 (+1 overall).Another who fell back quite a bit from the first day was Dustin Johnson, who also slipped to T19 from his T3 on the inaugural day of the PGA Championship. After the second round, 76 golfers made the cut and will continue to play through the weekend. Of the stars who closed poorly on the first day, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, and Justin Thomas managed to recover and, some just barely, make the cut.Matt Fitzpatrick, Wyndham Clark, Cameron Young, Jason Day and Talor Gooch were among the players who were expected to make the cut but were unable to do so in this edition of the PGA Championship.Viktor Hovland, one of the leaders of the 2023 PGA Championship after Round Two (Image via Getty)2023 PGA Championship LeaderboardBelow is the leaderboard for the 2023 PGA Championship.
