2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play: Best odds and bets explored

The 2023 World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play is set to tee off on Thursday, March 23, at the prestigious Austin Country Club in Texas.

The event, with a prize purse of $20 million, will see 64 golfers go up against each other for the top prize. The golfers will play in groups of four and fight it out for the winner’s share of $3,500,000.

The WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play features eight out of the top nine players in the Official World Golf Rankings among the top contenders. The event’s defending champion Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, and Rory McIlroy are among the top names to watch out for. Unsurprisingly, Scheffler, Rahm and McIlroy are the favorites to win the event.

According to top betting sites, WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play defending champion Scottie Scheffler is most likely to defend his title this week. The golfer comes into the event with odds of 7-1. He is the favorite according to the latest 2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play odds listed by SportsLine.

However, it is interesting to note that no golfer has successfully defended the event title since Tiger Woods in 2003-04.

No. 1 ranked Scheffler is closely followed by No.2 Jon Rahm and No.3 Rory McIlroy.

According to top betters, Rahm is the second favorite with 10-1 odds, while McIlroy follows with 12-1. Patrick Cantlay (15-1), Max Homa (16-1) and Collin Morikawa (19-1) are the other top names on the PGA Tour event’s odds board.
