Matt Wallace had not won on the DP World Tour since the 2018 season, when he won three tournaments (Hero Indian Open, BMW International Open and Made in Denmark). In addition to his title at the 2024 Omega European Masters, he also won the 2017 Open de Portugal.
Besides the Omega European Masters, Wallace has played in just two DP World Tour events this season. He tied for 15th at the KLM Open and finished eighth at the British Masters.
During the PGA Tour season, he played in 20 events with 13 missed cuts and only one top-10 finish (T4 at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson). The Englishman finished 110th in the FedEx Cup standings, but secured his card until the end of the 2025 season thanks to his victory in the 2023 Corales Puntacana Championship.
