On Monday, November 25, the PGA Tour announced the nominees for the 2024 Player of the Year. The finalists for the Jack Nicklaus Award were selected by the PGA Tour Player Directors and Player Advisory Council (PAC) members.
This year, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and Scottie Scheffler are the nominees for the 2024 Player of the Year. The winner will be determined by a vote among PGA Tour members who have made at least 15 starts this season. Voting will conclude on Wednesday, December 4, at 5 pm ET, with the winner announced by the end of the year.

Three nominees for the PGA Tour Player of the Year compared
1) Rory McIlroy
Rory McIlroy made 19 starts this season and won two titles this season. He finished ninth in the FedExCup and sixth in the scoring Average of 69.914.
McIlroy registered seven top-10 finishes and missed just one cut. Although this won't be counted, he also won the Race to Dubai on the DP World Tour and finished with two wins on the circuit.
2) Xander Schauffele
Xander Schauffele completed another season as one of the most consistent players on the PGA Tour. He made 22 starts and did not miss a single cut. Additionally, he recorded an impressive 15 top-10 finishes.
Schauffele ended his two-year winning drought by claiming victory at the PGA Championship and followed it up with a win at The Open Championship. He finished fourth in the FedExCup standings and ranked second in scoring average with 69.137.
3) Scottie Scheffler
Thanks to an incredible performance this year, Scottie Scheffler is the strongest contender to win the 2024 PGA Tour Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Scheffler participated in 19 events this season, achieving an impressive 16 top-10 finishes and securing seven titles. His victories included the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players Championship, The Masters Tournament, RBC Heritage, The Memorial Tournament, the Travelers Championship, and the Tour Championship.
Additionally, Scheffler won the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, claimed his first-ever FedEx Cup title, and received the Byron Nelson Award for the lowest-scoring average of 68.645.
