The purse for the 2024 Veritex Bank Championship is $1,000,000 and the winner's share is $180,000. The top 5 are expected to receive payouts in excess of $50,000 depending on ties.

Capan III also tied for the second-best all-time score record in all major golf tournaments in the world (tied with several other players). The leading score at this level (57) was also achieved on the Korn Ferry Tour by Chile's Cristobal Del Solar.
The young prodigy Miles Russell surprised everyone again with a first round of 3 under 68 (four birdies and one bogey). With this score, Russell moved into the middle of the leaderboard and has a chance to make the cut on the Korn Ferry Tour for the second week in a row.
Russell made headlines a week ago when he finished in the Top 20 at the LECOM Suncoast Classic with a 14-under score and two rounds of 66.
