2024 Wyndham Championship weather forecast for Round 2: Thunderstorms to plague one more day at Sedgefield

The 2024 Wyndham Championship is underway at the Sedgefield Country Club Greensboro in North Carolina. The final event of the regular PGA Tour season is facing plenty of challenges, with delayed starts due to thunderstorms in the region. The first round of the 2024 Wyndham Championship started on Friday (August 9) instead of Thursday, forcing a 36-hole event on Sunday.

The weather forecast for Saturday is not promising enough as there are chances of thunderstorms in the afternoon from 3 PM local time.

According to the PGA Tour Communications weather report, the second round of the 2024 Wyndham Championship is likely to have scattered showers, and thunderstorms may redevelop in the afternoon and evening. The higher likelihood of storms will be south and east of Greensboro, which is a bit of relief, but the chances of a thunderstorm over Greensboro cannot be ruled out completely.

We have already seen an hour's delay in the tee times on Saturday due to wet conditions. Few golfers are yet to finish their first round, so some golfers need to play around 20 to 26 holes today and 36 holes tomorrow in the 2024 Wyndham Championship. It will come down to the stamina and perseverance of golfers, with so much golf to play in such a short period.
