The LIV Golf star's best finish at the Major championship has been second place, which he settled for in six years between 1999 and 2013. Mickelson needs a US Open victory to be able to complete his career grand slam.

He made his debut US Open appearance at the Oakmont Country Club in 2016 and missed the cut. The World No. 1 golfer went on to tie for second place in 2022 at The Country Club after tying for seventh place in 2021 at Torrey Pines. The 2023 edition of the Major saw Scheffler tie for 3rd place.
