Padraig Harrington to get inducted into Golf Hall of Fame in June 2024

Padraig Harrington will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in June 2024 making him the third Irishman to receive the honor after Joe Carr and Christy O'Connor Senior.

The 51-year-old said he was very proud to receive the honor and join past Hall of Famers.

“It’s somewhat humbling," said Harrington. "At this stage of my life, it gives me some validation to what I’ve done in golf. It brings back a flood of memories."

Harrington stated that seeing the name beside his idols was very nice. He added that it was unfortunate that not everyone could be there.

Harrington has 21 professional titles to his name, which includes three major trophies. Now a regular on the PGA Tour Champions, Harrington has won four titles on the senior Tour as well.

His first major victory came at the 2007 British Open by beating Sergio Garcia in the playoffs. Then, he became the first European to win two successive majors by winning the Open Championship and the PGA Championship in 2018.

With the help of three majors in 15 months, Harrington reached World No. 3 in the OWGR and was also awarded the European Tour, PGA Tour, and PGA of America Player of the Year in 2008.

The Dublin native has been a regular for the European team in the Ryder Cup and has even captained them. He was with the winning side four times in his career.

Last year, Harrington won the US Senior Open and the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Phoenix.
