Michael Kim is giving away a nice Christmas present to followers of his, albeit a little late. On the day after Christmas, Kim took to X to announce a pretty significant giveaway: Players Championship tickets.
The Players Championship is often called the fifth Major for golf. It features who's who of the best PGA Tour players, and the competition is usually top-notch. In 2025, Kim offered some of his fans and followers a chance to make it to the event.
Kim said on X:
"Late Christmas presents… who wants some Players Champ tickets? Bonus points if you bring a kid."
Kim has already agreed to give tickets to some fans. One man shared a photo of himself and his young child and the PGA Tour pro said he'd secure two tickets to the Players or any event if they can't make that one.
Several others have asked, including a fan account dedicated to Ludvig Aberg. Michael Kim slyly responded to that one that Aberg should be able to get the account manager some tickets, but he has otherwise only responded to the one follower to grant him tickets.
Will Michael Kim play in the Players Championship?
As mentioned, the Players Championship is a rather exclusive event. It's a Signature Event with a limited field, so not everyone gets in. There are qualifying criteria that need to be met just like the Majors.

Here are the criteria (per Florida Times-Union):
- Winners of PGA Tour cosponsored or approved tournaments since last Players.
- Top 125 players from prior season’s FedEx Cup Fall and points list.
- Masters winners from 2019-2023.
- Players Championship and The Open Championship winners from 2018-2023.
- U.S. Open and PGA Championship winners from 2018-2023.
- FedEx Cup winners from the 2018/19–2022/23 seasons
- Winners of WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play from 2021-2023.
- Winner of the 2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
- Genesis Invitational winners from 2022-2024.
- Winners of the Arnold Palmer Invitational from 2022-2024.
- Memorial Tournament winners from last three years.
- Current Men’s Golf Olympic Gold Medalist (Scottie Scheffler).
- Top 50 in OWGR as of the Cognizant Classic in March.
- Top 10 players from the 2024 FedEx Cup points list through Cognizant Classic.
- Last year's PGA Tour Champions Kaulig Companies Championship winner.
- Top player who earned PGA Tour card from the Race to Dubai Ranking.
- Top player from the prior season’s Official Korn Ferry Tour points list.
As of now, Michael Kim would qualify. He is ranked 117th out of 125 players on the PGA Tour FedEx Cup points list, so he falls in that category. Since the 2024 FedEx Cup season, including the Fall portion, is complete, he's cemented his status in the field for 2025.
