Bryson DeChambeau is down to World No. 102 in the Official World Golf Rankings. DeChambeau had a poor start to the 2023 season as he failed to even make a cut at the PIF Saudi International on Friday.

Monday came with even worse news as DeChambeau slipped to the lowest ranking since winning a title on the PGA Tour. It's the first time since July 2017 that he is out of the top 100 in OWGR.

However, the main reason for DeChambeau's drop is his association with LIV Golf. Currently, LIV events are barred from the Official World Golf Rankings. DeChambeau tied for 8th place in last year's Open Championship. He was ranked 28 at the time. Six months later, the Saudi international was the only ranking-based event he participated in.

Although LIV could be responsible for his fall, his form prior to his defection wasn't the best. He dealt with injuries after winning two titles in 2020-21. He could only participate in four PGA Tour events in 2022, failing to make a cut even in one.

His first season on the Saudi-backed circuit was also underwhelming as he failed to win any event. He made three top-10 finishes but couldn't make any podium finishes. Overall, he ended the season at 26th in the Money Leaders list for 2022.

Currently, LIV Golf has four top 50 players in the OWGR with Cameron Smith being the highest-ranked at No. 4, Joaquin Niemann (No. 23), Abraham Ancer at No. 26, and No. 50 Dustin Johnson. While Ancer improved his rankings with a win at last week's PIF Saudi International, Dustin Johnson is set to drop out of the top 50 next week.

DeChambeau's highest ranking has been No. 4 in 2021. He first reached the top 5 after his triumph at the 2020 US Open.

DeChambeau was seen using a TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus driver during the PIF Saudi International and not from his regular Cobra, which he has used in his entire professional career. He wasn't satisfied with his former driver as they were not giving him the range he wanted as the golfer is known for hitting long yards.

Apart from that, he was using the Project T1100 shaft, which is known to provide one of the stiffest and most stable profiles.

Justin Rose ended his four-year title drought at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He shot a final round of 6 under 66, three shots ahead of Brandon Todd and Brandon Wu. This triumph helped him reach the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings. He currently sits at World No. 35. This makes him eligible for the upcoming Masters.

Abraham Ancer also gained from his victory at the PIF Saudi International. He finished the final round at 2-under-68 to finish on 19 under, beating American Cameron Young by two shots. Ancer has reached World No. 26 in the latest Official World Golf Ranking update.
