Bryson DeChambeau opened up about Rory McIlroy's performance at the 2024 US Open. The American golfer won his second Major at Pinehurst No.2 Golf Course after carding a round of 71. He faced tough competition from Rory McIlroy, who was also in contention to win the Major. McIlroy encountered difficulties on the concluding hole, resulting in DeChambeau taking home the trophy.

Following the Major, Bryson DeChambeau discussed Rory McIlroy's performance in his interview with the media. DeChambeau appreciated McIlroy's incredible outing and also expressed disappointment that he missed a putt on the final hole.

Speaking of Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau said:

"Rory's one the best to ever play. And being able to fight against a great like that is pretty special. For him to miss that putt, I never wished on anybody; it just happened to play out that way. And he'll win multiple more major championships there's no doubt."
"I think that fire in him is going to continue to grow. And I have nothing but respect for how he plays the game of golf. Cause to be honest, when he was climbing up the leaderboard, and he was too ahead, I was like, 'Uh oh', but luckily, things might go my way today."(19:55-20:38)

Furthermore, DeChambeau revealed that he had been closely watching McIlroy throughout the final round. He admitted that from the 13th hole when McIlroy made a birdie, he kept an eye on his game. DeChambeau added:

"Pretty much trying to see where he was. Almost on every hole from 13 on in. I even saw it on 10 where he made birdie, and I'm like, 'oh man, he's going for it'. And so I had to put my foot on the pedal and push down pretty hard as well. So it definitely pushed me. Seeing him play and be ahead of me definitely allowed for me to focus a little bit more."
