Cam Smith's team takes a jab at LIV Golf’s Australia ‘problem’ with popular meme

LIV Golf has announced its 2025 schedule and Cam Smith's home event in Adelaide will kick off on February 14, which also happens to be Valentine's Day. His team, Ripper GC, humorously shared the dilemma of Aussie golf fans with a meme on social media.

LIV Golf Adelaide has been the most successful event on the Saudi-backed circuit, drawing large spectator numbers. The tournament will return for the third consecutive year, taking place from February 14 to 16 at Grange Golf Club in Adelaide.

On Thursday, August 5, Ripper GC shared a famous meme on X and wrote:

"Aussie golf fan problems on Valentine’s Day 2025 🤣"

This year's event saw a 22 percent increase in attendance compared to the first edition, with over 94,000 people attending. Cam Smith also gave his countrymen something to cheer about as he led Ripper GC to victory in the first-ever team playoff.

The fourth season of LIV Golf will begin with LIV Golf Riyadh, taking place from February 6 to 8 at Riyadh Golf Club. LIV Golf Adelaide will be the second event, followed by the Hong Kong event, scheduled for March 7 to 9. LIV Golf Singapore will be held from March 14 to 16 and will be the fourth event of the season.

How did Cam Smith perform in the LIV Golf 2024 season?

Cam Smith secured seven top-ten finishes this season, including three runner-up finishes, but failed to claim a title. With 127 points, he is currently sixth in the season standings. In the team segment, he led Ripper GC to two victories, in Adelaide and Singapore, respectively.

As for the major championships, Smith finished T6 at the Masters Tournament but didn’t make any other top-30 finish. Additionally, he missed the cut at The Open Championship.
