LIV golfer Brooks Koepka topped the leaderboard after the first round of the 2023 Masters. He finished with a score of under seven to register the lead in the tournament alongside Jon Rahm and Viktor Hovland.

He made two consecutive birdies on the first two holes and two more on the 7th and 8th holes. Koepka birdied the 12th hole before making bogey on the 13th. He added another birdie on the 15th hole and two more on the last two holes of the Augusta National course to finish with a total score of 65, wrapping up under 7.

According to BetOnline, Brooks Koepka has 3300 odds points to win The Masters in 2023. Ahead of The Masters, Koepka won the LIV Golf Orlando by one shot over Sebastian Munoz. He became the only golfer to win two LIV events.

Brooks Koepka has not won The Masters and is looking to win the title this year. His best finish in the event was recorded in 2019 when he finished in second position. However, he missed the cut at the 2022 Masters.

His record at the Augusta National Golf Course has been shady for the last two years. However, that was because of his injury. Nonetheless, he is now playing in form and could win the tournament if he can maintain his lead. The Masters is scheduled for the finale on Sunday, April 9.

Brooks Koepka's past finishes at The Masters

Brooks Koepka turned professional in 2012 and has won 17 professional events in his career. He has won four major tournaments, including two PGA Championships and two US Open events. He finished in fourth place at The Open Championship in 2019 and second at The Masters.

Brooks Koepka earned his first Masters invitation for the 2014-15 season after finishing in fourth place at the US Open. He made his Masters debut in 2015 and finished in T33 place with a total score of 288. Koepka played the four rounds of 74, 71, 71, and 72.

In 2016, Koepka jumped in to finish in the 21st position with a score of 5. He finished in a two-way tie alongside Jamie Donaldson and Bryson DeChambeau.

He played again in the 2017 Masters and finished in 11th position in a five-way tie with Rickie Fowler, Russell Henley, Hideki Matsuyama, and Jordan Spieth.

Brooks Koepka qualified for The Masters in 2018, but he did start the game and the next year, fans witnessed his best performance when he secured second position alongside Dustin Johnson and Xander Schauffele.
