Celine Boutier beats Georgia Hall in the playoff to win the LPGA Drive On Championship

Celine Boutier bested Georgia Hall in the playoff to claim the 2023 LPGA Drive On Championship at Superstition Mountain.

Boutier entered the fourth round of the event with a 1 stroke lead after 54 holes. She holed 5 birdies and one bogey in her final round of 4-under 68. Hall, on the other hand, started the fourth day at 7th, trailing three shots behind Boulter. But the 25-year-old had left the best for last as she carded the fourth round of 7-under 65, burying 7 birdies alongside an eagle and holed just two bogeys.

On the final hole, Boutier carded her fifth birdie of the day to take the round into the playoff, with Hall had already having birdied the 18th.

Both players were set to play the 18th again. Both started shakily, with neither of them finding the fairway on the first attempt. Hall then found the greenside bunker from where she hit the ball 20 feet further from the hole. Boutier, on the other hand, hit it near the hole, comfortably birdieing it for the win.

This is Boutier's third LPGA victory, making her the most successful French player on the LPGA Tour.
