Tom Hoge is a prominent player on the PGA Tour, but Tiger Woods once didn't know anything about him. Hoge has four wins on the PGA Tour and was placed third in the Players Championship with a score of -10.
Eight years ago, he and Woods were tied heading into the final round of an event. When the legendary golfer was asked about Hoge, he didn't even know what to say [via Golf Magic]:
"No, I wouldn't. What is it? Or him? Or what? I don't know. No, I don't know. Never met him, never seen him. Don't know anything about him."
At the time, Tom Hoge was an unknown player. He's a known commodity now, but it's fair to believe Woods that he didn't know anything about him at the time - even if it is a bit disrespectful to someone who was tied with the golfer.
Despite not winning the Players recently (Scottie Scheffler cruised to victory there), Hoge had an unbelievable performance. He shot a 62 in the third round, setting a course record.
He said [via The Florida Times Union]:
"I didn't even know it was a course record until after we got done in the scoring there. Today was going to be the day to do it if you were going to out here because it was soft with little wind, so you felt like you could make birdies and keep trying to make birdies."
He admitted that he didn't expect to even make the cut before finishing T3:
"I shot 78 the first round, so I was expecting to be on that yesterday afternoon, so it's been nice to cancel a few flights."
Hoge sank an unbelievable 10 birdies in that round.
Tiger Woods' ex-wife wants nothing to do with present lawsuit
Tiger Woods has been in the news for alleged sexual assault and a lawsuit being filed against him by his ex-girlfriend Erica Herman. However, his ex-wife Elin Nordegren wants nothing to do with it.
The pair have a decent relationship as they co-parent their children, but she wants nothing to do with the controversy. A source said [via Fox News]:
"This aspect of Tiger's life is not her concern. She has no interest in his personal life or what happens with his various girlfriends. That part of her life was over a long time ago."
The source also said:
"She would never go back with him but likes that he is a good father. She has seen that over the years, which worked them into a good relationship. They co-parent pretty well."
The source also added that Nordegren would pay attention if any of Woods' relationships got serious:
"Of course, she needs to be very confident that the children are safe and happy around anyone that Tiger is with, especially if the romance becomes serious. To that degree, she is very interested. But not on much else."
Tiger Woods' personal life, which now includes the alleged abuse and lawsuit, is not a concern of his ex-wife.
