Following his maiden DP World Tour win, Connor Syme has overtaken Cameron Smith in the latest ranking updates. He jumped 118 spots to break into the top 150 after his KLM Open victory.
On Sunday, June 8, Syme shot a 1-under 70 to post a two-shot win over Joakim Lagergren at the KLM Open. This marked his first win on the European Tour and helped boost his world ranking significantly.
As of Monday, June 9, Syme was ranked 145th in the world, his best ranking in a year. On the other hand, Cameron Smith has slipped to 176th, his lowest ranking in more than eight years. For the uninitiated, Smith’s disappointing performances in the majors, combined with LIV Golf events not offering ranking points, have contributed to his decline.
